Here's a download link for the new base image bgls.
I appear to have been having a few problems with these when actually flying as opposed to paused flight where the screenshots were taken. Problems I've encountered are loss of water textures, loss of base GenX day textures around my bgls, with FSX displaying black squares of night textures during the day(!) and frame rate swings of between 40 and 3 fps.
Not sure whether this is my doing with these new ground textures or not but feel free to download and test them and please give me some feedback as to whether you're encountering similar issues. If the base images make the scenery unflyable for everyone I'll ditch them until I figure the problem or someone can help me with it :(

Had some feedback from Chris Maltby. He's experiencing similar issues with the base image on Spindus Road and also asked some other questions...
Q) In the final version, you could leave the high-res separate so that it could be added as a separate library area, and disabled when flying at night?
A) I've only done day images so far because I'm still learning this stuff. If I overcome the problems I'll backtrack and do complementary night textures as well.
Q) Also, if you leave the different areas that you have made separate, that could solve any issues people may have with frame rates, as you could disable areas further from the airport etc.
A) I've tried to separate out my bgls for each area just for manageability, I hate it myself when everything is all in one bgl and you get a take it or leave it one size fits all approach.
Q) I was also wondering if you had thought about doing any of Hale village. just at the end of R27? If not, I quite fancy having a dig at it myself!
A) Yes, but not until the end of the project, so unless I'm overwhelmed with feedback asking for it now I'll stick to my plan. Anyone should feel free to pitch in and have a go at scenery around Liverpool or elsewhere - if you get stuck and need a pointer I'll happily give you the benefit of my experience to help you out.
